book printing Brisbane

Welcome to Barbossa Book Printing Brisbane, your premier destination for all your self-publishing and Brisbane book printing requirements. While our main office in Sydney coordinates your Brisbane book printing costs and design needs, rest assured that your books will be expertly printed right here at Barbossa Book Printing Brisbane.

Unlike other online book printing companies and commercial book printers, we understand that not everyone possesses a press-ready book printing art file. That's why we go the extra mile by also offering professional typesetting services. Instead of merely printing a subpar Word Document PDF file, we ensure that your book receives the attention it deserves with our meticulous Brisbane typesetting process.

Our commitment to affordability sets us apart from other Brisbane book printers. In fact, bundling our professional typesetting services with printing may still be more cost-effective than opting for another Brisbane book printing company. We're confident in the value we provide, which is why we encourage you to request your Brisbane book printing quote from Barbossa Book Printing.

We also a Call Back Service.

Cheaper Brisbane Book Printing. Is that right?

While Barbossa Book Printing is a very cost-effective Brisbane book printing company, we do not consider ourselves to be a Cheap Book Printing Company. Instead, we offer good value, and so while Barbossa Book Printing is one of the most cost-effective book printing specialists in Australia, we are also one of the best-quality book printers.

Our short-run digital book printing technology is comparable to offset printing, and so there's no loss of quality in having us print your books digitally.

That also means there's no reason to not ask us to quote your book printing project, because you have nothing to lose.

BONUS ISBN BARCODE AT BARBOSSA BOOK PRINTING BRISBANE

What is an ISBN? An ISBN is the "International Standard Book Number" that is used to make the Book's Barcode.

You only need an ISBN if you want your Printed Book to be placed into any Libabry or Cataloging System.

Get your BONUS ISBN Number and Barcode here when you have your Brisbane Book Designed and Printed here at Barbossa Book Printing Brisbane.
As if that didn’t make life easy enough, remember that we also stand by our Book Type-setting Quotes as a static price. So now you can know what your Book Design and ISBN will cost you before you start the Book Design Phase of your next Brisbane Book Printing Project.

CAN I PROVIDE PDF FILES AND BARBOSSA BOOK PRINTING JUST PRINT THE BOOK?

Yes. While we would prefer to create a book printing job from beginning to end, so that everything is made properly, we can and will consider any "book printing files" that you can provide for your book printing project.

Before you start designing 101 jpg or Photoshop files though, please know that not all files are usable, and if you think that creating all your own files is going to lower your cost, it might not.

Poorly created and supplied book printing files create just as much work as creating a new book printing file from scratch, so if you do want to provide your own files, please make sure they are 300DPI, CMYK, and are the right size with Crop Marks and Bleed.

If your proposed book is 100% text, then we recommend that you spend more time crafting your copy and making sure it’s error-free, and leaving the book design and type-setting work to us.

Check Out Our Book Printing CheckList

In the above header links, you will find a Book Designing Checklist that includes all the stages of designing your own Brisbane Book Printing Job. There you can download the most common Book Printing Fonts, research Book Binding Types, Calculate your Book's Spine Width, and more. So regardless of whether you're a Brisbane Book Designing Professional, or if you're a one-time Brisbane-Based Self Publisher, the above Book Printing Checklist shows the process from beginning to end.

Can you have a printed book proof?

Yes. In addition to bulk Brisbane Book Printing, we can also Print and Bind Singular Soft Cover Book Printing Proofs before bulk book printing in Brisbane. That means if you want a quote for 100 or 1000 books, but also want to see a Bound Book Proof before bulk printing, then we can do that to the book printing quote too.

Simply request a bound book printing proof when requesting your Brisbane Book Printing Quote, and we'll include the book proof in the formal book quote.

B&W Vs Colour Pages in digital, vs offset book printing

Here at Barbossa Book Printing Brisbane, we print books digitally and offset.
In Digital Printing, which applies to shorter-run book printing, each colour page or B&W page can be quoted individually. That means if your Brisbane Book Printing project has 140 B&W Pages and 24 Pages mixed throughout, then that is how we will quote your book.
Now the same advantage does not apply to Offset Quantity Book Printing, however, Offset Book Printing is largely more economical than Digital Book Printing at Larger numbers anyway.

Book Printing Time Frames

PUR Bound and Perfect Bound Book Printing take approximately 2 weeks to print and bind. That means seven to ten working days to dispatch.
Saddle Stitched books can be produced quicker, in four to seven working days.
An actual bound book proof for either of the above will also add to that time frame. So if your book printing project is time-critical, it's important that you plan ahead.
Remember, we print in Brisbane, Sydney and Brisbane, and we don't send any work out of Australia. So unlike some other book printing services, your books will already be local, and won't be delayed by international shipping.

The book printing process

If we are not designing or typesetting your book printing file for print, then after your book cover design and book formatting are complete, you are ready for the printing process. If we quoted your book's design and typesetting, then we have likely already quoted your book printing too, and have determined if the quantity is suited to digital or offset printing.
The process is then, print quote, print quote acceptance. Then any design work if applicable. Then invoice and payment. Once payment has been received, we'll check your book printing art file and send you a PDF Proof. You then check the PDF proof and either approve the file or make alterations. Once that PDF proof is approved, we

can print a bound proof book if that was already agreed to. You then check the actual bound proof book and either approve to proceed or advise otherwise. Once the book proofs are approved to proceed, we'll put your books into print production and advise back an ETA. We'll then track your books through to delivery and we'll ask you how we did.
